On June 5, 2003, he came as a viewer to see the WWE SmackDown show where his father, Rey Mysterio, won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. During his childhood, he used to attend WWE events to see his father. At the age of 8, he first appeared on the WWE stage as part of a storyline between his father and Eddie Guerrero in the summer of 2005. They both fight for his custody. On August 21, his father defeated Guerrero in a ladder match for his custody at SummerSlam.
