In her interview with BBC, Walker talked about her struggle with being overweight. “I started to put on weight after my first child was born, and after another four pregnancies, I was at my biggest,” she said.
“I tried lots of different diets but they usually left me feeling hungry or miserable or both in fact.” So, annoyed with following strict diets and still not getting results, Walker joined Slimming World Group. It is a social club that helps overweight people in losing weight.
There are experts that advise members on how to lose weight and then members get to share their weight loss journeys with each other. The group proved to be so helpful and effective for Walker that she became “Woman of the Year” of the group by losing 7 stone in 50 weeks.
How did Nicola Lose Weight?
Obviously, the next question that comes to our mind is how did she do that. Well, Walker lost weight by following the instructions of the experts of Slimming World Group. She changed her diet plan. However, this time it was not a strict diet but a flexible one. She also exercised a lot.

Walker shifted to an organic diet, whereas before she used to eat a lot of junk food. She divided her daily meals into 6 small meals, which she ate throughout the day. In this way, Walker successfully reduced her calorie consumption without feeling hungry all the time.
She also drank a lot of water to get over feeling hungry all the time. It also helped her in doing more exercise.

With time, Walker realized that working out was as crucial to losing weight as maintaining a healthy diet. She started doing pilates, crunches, lunges, push-ups, squats, and cycling. Nicola started going for long walks in the morning as well.

After joining the Slimming World Group, Nicola went from weighing 266 pounds to weighing 168 pounds. She lost 98 pounds along the way.
Nicola’s Comment on Her Weight Loss Journey
Walker said that losing weight has changed her life. “I’ve got so much more energy and I can do things now that I couldn’t before. My fitness has improved and I enjoy being active now rather than thinking of it as a chore,” Nicola said. “I’m more confident and like the slim, happy, positive person I see in the mirror.”
