Dion has been practicing Ballet recently. She has become fond of Ballet dancing. While giving an interview to People, Celine claimed that “Dancing has been in my DNA all of my life. It’s a dream and so hard”.

Besides ballet, Celine also dances on stage while singing. This also keeps her thin. Dion is pretty much busy in her music career.

She has multiple shows in a week and while being busy most of the time, weight loss is inevitable.

Dancing is equivalent to working out in a gym. In fact, many professional trainers are now adopting dance as a part of their weight-loss training.

  1. Our culture has been hyper-focused on female appearance for far too long. As a person who has been anorexic, I am quite aware of this. But I am also quite aware that my unhealthy thoughts (still in my forties) become more invasive during periods in which I feel that I have limited control.
My question is why did Celine Dion have gastric bypass surgery?
Why was it performed? She would never qualify for it on the basis of her health.
Also, I feel that I can comment, because I have body dysmorphia! I know those fantastical thoughts that occur when I cannot fit into my size 2 skirt and want to hide in bed because I am feeling “fat” in my size 4.
I have teenage daughters, and am still in counseling, praying that they will not have body image issues.
But, Celine is not okay. Like an alcoholic, I have to stand up still to this day and say, “Hi, my name is Molly and I am an anorexic woman.”
That woman doesn’t buy the “ballet” excuse, because she knows how we justify our behaviors.

    • Totally agree. I’m amazed that close relationships, family, and her doctor doesn’t have alarms going OFF. Celine your the greatest singer.

    • She’s absolutely a Oreo pic and does a grave 8njustice to young teen girls who have it. She looks. 80 years old. Ballet my ass!

  2. I totally support Celine. She has an amazing voice, and is human just like the rest of us. Health should come first. If she feels good about herself, that’s awesome. It’s not easy for anyone. Because she’s in the spotlight doesn’t mean anything. She’s an amazingly strong, and beautiful lady. Love you Celine

  3. Her body is skeletal (observe those shoulder blades.) If she lost weight because of her husband’s death, I understand. But for her to CHOOSE to lose weight is ridiculous. As for “it’s ok because she feels good about herself” is a stupid, ignorant statement. Anorexics don’t usually feel good about their body because, even with the “concentration camp” look, they still think they’re too fat. I’m with Molly on this–the ballet excuse is bull! And if it isn’t–shame on the world of ballet. I hope she gets some REAL help. So sad.

  4. I believe she is suffering an eating disorder, anorexia. She verbalized she feels sexier losing that weight when in reality she looks sickly and way too thin. That is anorexia. It’s possible she may have some type of serious medical illness.
She appears in denial. I pray she accepts medical and psychological help.
