Ethan struggled with obesity since he was just a teenager. However, his weight loss journey started at the age of 25 years in 2002 after an incident at a shipping center.
He was there to be checked if he had a drug or alcohol addiction, however, there wasn’t any such addiction.
His weight size was required for intake but they didn’t have a scale of his size. That made the situation even worse. “I was utterly horrified”, later Ethan remarked. He said, “Everything was a struggle, I couldn’t sit down in a chair without first trying to conspicuously test its strength”.
That was the moment Ethan realized that he had to lose weight. He was worried about his health as well.
How did Ethan Gain so much Weight?

Because of this little difference, he was restrictively put on a diet by his grandparents. ”I was put on a diet when I was five years old” Ethan recalled.
Although his grandparents did it out of pure love, it had some very negative effects on Suplee’s health.
To eat nice food like other kids, Ethan would sneak from the home and would end up eating a lot of unhealthy food like fast food. In this way, he built a very unhealthy habit of overeating. Thus got overweight with the passage of time.
How did Ethan Lose so much Weight?

He worked on his habits. Suplee has described his whole weight loss journey in his podcast with Joe Rogan.
Joe asked Ethan about his weight loss, “You are only a Human, how did you do it?” In reply, Ethan said, “Over the past 20 years, I have gone back and forth. I have lost some weight and have gained some weight again”.
Suplee continued, “The thing that I have done that has been sustainable is undoing the bad habits that I had that I would associate with allowing myself to get to 550 pounds, is really more important than anything that I can say this is what I did to lose weight”.
He also made huge changes to his diet. First of all, Suplee restrained his drinking. Then, he started including many vegetables and fruits in his diet plan. Suplee balanced his diet between veggies and meat and limited food consumption.
Ethan Regained Weight Multiple Times
The most alarming problem for Suplee has been the immediate gain of weight. In his own words, “2002 was the year that I decided I want to lose weight. In 2002 I lost about 80 pounds and continued my struggle”.
Suplee continued, “At one point I was to reach 200 pounds and then went back to 350 pounds. And for the past five years, I have been around the weight that I am now. I am 270 pounds right now”.
Since this podcast, he has lost a further 15 pounds. Ethan controlled his eating habits, however, his main focus was on his workout, “I train with professional bodybuilders and my personal trainer is George Fethers, shout out to him” Suplee described his weight loss journey.
He would do workouts intensely in the gym. Ethan would visit the gym 6 days a week and would spend two to three hours there, doing workouts nonstop.

As mentioned before, Suplee has lost an astonishing 295 pounds. His present weight is 255 pounds, which is a huge change from his previous weight of 550 pounds. This means he has managed to shed almost half of his original body weight!
What has Suplee said about His Weight Loss Journey?
During the podcast with Joe Rogan, while looking at his old photos, Suplee described his feelings as “Looking at these pictures I cannot relate to how I lived then”.
He continued, “I am being an obese person and now I am not. And I feel far better this way. But I will not tell anyone to do the same. It depends on the person. You have to do a lot of struggle there’s a kind of a trade-off. And today even talking about weight loss has become very hard”.
