Hudson is an American actress and businesswoman. She rose to fame after her debut movie, Desert Blue. Throughout her acting career, Kate has been awarded several accolades such as Golden Globe Award, Satellite Award, and Critics’ Choice Movie Award.

Besides that, she has also been nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, and two times for Screen Actors Guild Awards. The mother of three, two sons and a daughter has achieved a lot of success in her acting career.

Weight Loss Journey

Not only in her career, but Kate has been quite successful in her personal life as well. She remains healthy and happy, staying a role model for young women. However, while pregnant with her third child, Rani Rose, Hudson put up extra pounds.

But as soon as she gave birth to her daughter, in November 2018, Hudson was on the track to living a healthy life. In a short period of time, Kate lost 13 pounds. But she couldn’t celebrate the achievement for a long time. Because as soon as she gave birth, there was Christmas coming. And while on the holiday she gained some pounds by eating cakes and steak.

Hudson gained weight because of an imbalance in her diet. And she knew that if she were to lose weight, she would have to bring balance to her life again. So, in order to lose weight, Kate made some big changes to her diet plan and the way she spent her days.

1. Stay Away From Sugar

Hudson eliminated processed sugar from her diet completely. This decision proved to be very good for her health. Consumption of processed sugar can be quite harmful. It can cause diabetes, obesity, heart disease, depression, and dementia. 

After giving up sugar, Kate felt very healthy and full of energy. She did consume sugar but through fruits, which were healthy and natural.

2. Adopting a Healthy Diet

As already mentioned, Kate made huge changes to her diet plan. She limited her calorie intake and avoided eating out. Hudson also limited her meat consumption, avoiding meat as much as possible. Instead, she put more focus on eating veggies and fruits.

In the morning, she starts her day with either a smoothie or protein shake. In order to lose weight and get back to her slim figure, Kate took the help of Weight Watchers (WW). Talking about her food choice and diet plan, Kate said, “What works for me is understanding my food, my fitness activity, and how to balance.”

3. Try Something New Everyday

Kate knows how to keep things fresh and how not to make her workout routine boring. In order to stay interested in working out, she changes her workouts every day. “I change my routine,” Hudson said, “I mix it up to keep things fresh.”

She added, “I love how flexible I get and what this does to the shape of my body.” Some days, Hudson takes her bike and rides it around the neighborhood while on other days, she loves to stay at home and do workouts there. 

4. Enjoy Your Success

Hudson knows perfectly how to enjoy your achievement. She gives herself treats on a weekly basis. She likes to enjoy her success with a pizza, tacos, or margaritas. Talking about which, Kate said, “I’ve done it (lost weight) without stressing on food or working out like crazy, although I have been disciplined,”

5. Achieve the Peace of Mind

Kate meditates on a daily basis to achieve peace of mind. It is very necessary for her if we take into account her busy schedule. It has a very positive impact on her health too. “Meditation has been the most helpful and life-changing thing for me. You can feel the difference when you meditate on a regular basis,” Kate said.

She added, “At least I can. I started practicing transcendental meditation a year and a half ago so I meditate 20 minutes in the morning and I try to do another 20 minutes in the afternoon.”

After maintaining a healthy diet and making big changes in her daily schedule, Hudson is back at her ideal weight of 136 pounds. Whereas, in the past, she weighed around 160 pounds. She has lost 24 pounds along the way.
